In her outpatient primary care practice, Dr DeCastro provides direct individualized care for patients using evidence-based guidelines. She offers a simple, flat, affordable membership fee without third party involvement. She provides personalized care with a clear focus on fostering a long term trusting relationship with patients.

As a primary care physician, she believes it’s vital to know the healthcare culture and landscape of where you practice. Dr. DeCastro has forged close ties with other physicians and specialists in the community and will take the time to communicate with them to coordinate your care. The practice spans prevention, acute care & chronic disease management and centers around one’s mental, physical and spiritual health.

Dr. DeCastro also serves as a Medical Director at Curana Health where she cares for post-acute and long-term care patients, serving the needs of older adults. Through this work, she has developed a deep appreciation for the importance of prevention in managing and reducing chronic disease. In addition, she serves as the Supervising Physician for Whole Heart Family Medicine and the Kadima Center for Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention, helping guide innovative, patient-centered care across these practices.
Dr. DeCastro is from Charleston by way of the old Naval Shipyard where her father served during his naval career. She is proud to care for the same community that has shaped her personally and professionally.

She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina in Columbia and her medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She was awarded a Health Professions Scholarship with the United States Air Force and served as a Captain and General Medical Officer at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport Louisiana.

She completed her Family Medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.​

In addition to her clinical and leadership roles, Dr. DeCastro is actively involved in the local medical community. She currently serves as President-Elect of the Charleston County Medical Society, where she enjoys mentoring young physicians, supporting community outreach efforts, and fostering collaboration among local healthcare providers. She was awarded Best Primary Care Physician and Best Primary Care Practice at Sewee Family Medicine in Mt Pleasant Magazine in 2020. She is recognized as a Leader in Health and Medicine in the 2026 Women in Health edition of Healthlinks Magazine.

Dr. DeCastro resides in Charleston with her husband, Dr. Alec DeCastro, Program Director of the MUSC Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship, and their four children. They love attending local sporting events, being out on the Charleston waterways and finding new dog friendly places with their puppy Rusty.
